Our Legacy
Founded by Leena Manimekalai, an acclaimed filmmaker with an extensive background in the South Asian media industry, Karuvachy Films has built a strong reputation for fearless, socially conscious filmmaking. Our projects have been showcased at over 100 international film festivals, with award-winning features gaining recognition on global platforms like Channel Four, Al Jazeera, NHK Japan, NDTV, ARD Germany, and Hallmark TV USA. MUBI, the avant-garde streaming platform, has curated a special collection of six of our films, further solidifying our position as pioneers in independent cinema.
Alongside Elango Raghupathy, a seasoned producer known for his work across television, OTT, and feature films, we continue to push the envelope, developing content that resonates across cultures and geographies.
